My Keto Peptide formula was delivered and sat outside in freezing temperatures and is frozen. Is it safe to use?

Yes. Freezing can be a very good way to preserve the nutritional value, texture and flavor of many foods. As long as the food was grown in a high-quality way (for example, organically grown) the overall nutrient retention in a frozen food will remain high. In other words, the vitamins and minerals will keep well when food is frozen.

If your Keto Peptide has been frozen, we recommend that you store it at ambient room temperature and it will thaw naturally. If you need a pouch right away, you can thaw it by running the unopened pouch under hot water for a minute or two or place in a bowl of warm water. Do not microwave to thaw. If you find that your product has been frozen, the product may separate a bit. The product is still perfectly good to use, just shake thoroughly or reblend in a blender to re-emulsify.

 

What is the shelf life of Keto Peptide?

Functional Formularies Keto Peptide is designed to have a shelf-life of up to 2 years from the date that the pouches are packaged (date printed on the pouch). The shelf-life is also dependent upon how the product is stored and handled over the time period. Under the guidelines of our research laboratories, if Keto Peptide is stored and handled properly at ambient temperatures of 60º to 70º degrees Fahrenheit, the maximum shelf-life for the product is 2 years.

What if there is visible oil separation upon opening the pouch?

As with all Functional Formularies products, we do not use any added emulsifiers or preservatives. Therefore, you  may see oil separation with our Keto Peptide formula. This is completely normal and you  do not need to be alarmed. Think of it like the organic peanut butter you buy at the grocery that has the oil on top that you have to mix back up when you get home. If you get a pouch that has separated, just reblend it in a blender for 30-45 seconds and it will be ready to use.
