About Course

Ketogenic metabolic therapy has been used for over 100 years to treat refractory epilepsy, but in recent years the research has significantly expanded to other neurologic conditions. This presentation will take a deep dive into the emerging research on using ketogenic metabolic therapy for a variety of other neurological conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and psychiatric conditions. Where does the research stand, what research gaps still exist, and where do we go from here?

In addition, implementation of ketogenic metabolic therapy specific to these neurological conditions will be discussed including a comparison to ketogenic metabolic therapy used for epilepsy. Does it need to be as restrictive for these other neurological conditions as it is with epilepsy, or is a more liberal approach feasible and effective? Each presenter will end with an engaging question-and-answer session!
