Kale

Containing high levels of dietary fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamins A, C, and K. The high fiber in kale makes it an excellent diet and digestive aid. Kale is loaded with essential minerals such as copper and manganese. Kale contains very little sugar and a wide array of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Other health benefits of kale include lower cholesterol, anti-inflammatory properties, cancer prevention and sulfur’s detoxifying effects.

Dandelion Greens

They are rich in vitamin A and calcium. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, you can use dandelion as a liver or kidney ""tonic"" and for minor digestive problems. The liver and kidney are the body's natural detoxification powerhouses.

Yellow Onion

Onions can promote gastrointestinal movement and strengthen digestion. Its sulfur combined with protein benefits the liver most, thus contributing to detoxification. The ""warm"" property of onion enables easy sweating and rowing edema. Sulfur compounds can rid the pesticides and other undesirable substances.

Sweet Potato

Sweet potatoes and yams have an unusual health side effect: they can remove heavy metals from the body. Sweet potatoes contain something called ""phytochelatins"". Leeks are used for detoxification because they contain potassium, folic acid, and vitamin C.
